Reconnecting Canada
With the help of volunteers, partners and sponsors, Trout Unlimited Canada has a goal of reconnecting one million miles of streams and rivers.
Connect & Protect
Provide space for Black, Indigenous and Racialized Communities, and allies to connect with and protect nature.
Cooling Streams
Focused on restoring riparian areas – the buffer of vegetation that connects land and water along streams, rivers, and lakes.
Native Trout Recovery
Working to advance native trout recovery via cumulative effects analysis, habitat restoration, restoration stocking, land use planning, watershed and fish population assessments, and public education.
Fish & people are connected. Water is the connection.
In this episode of “Stories from the River” we hear from Trout Unlimited Canada biologists Lesley Peterson and Angela Ten about what on-the-ground habitat restoration for native trout actually looks like.
Alberta Native Trout Collaborative
Our Mission & Approach
Trout Unlimited Canada is a Canadian charitable organization that has been working for over 50 years to conserve, protect, and restore Canada’s freshwater ecosystems and their coldwater resources for current and future generations.
TUC’s work is guided by science and research and is powered by the passion of its volunteers and professional staff. As a leader in water and fisheries protection, TUC’s professional staff collaborates with volunteers and partners to safeguard natural spaces and enhance Canadian resources.
Trout Unlimited Canada is the only national freshwater conservation organization that places more work on the ground than any other. Through partnerships and leveraging of funds, for every dollar donated, $4 worth of work is completed. Trout Unlimited Canada volunteer chapters and members are supported by a highly trained professional staff, operating across Canada.
