Chapter President: Nick Laferriere
Area of Interest
The Golden Chapter’s region of interest includes the upper Columbia River watershed in the Golden, B.C. region. The chapter’s particular areas of interest are conserving and protecting the waters, habitats, and native fish species this area supports, including Bull Trout, Rainbow Trout, Cutthroat Trout and Kokanee Salmon.
The chapter is made up of a diverse group of passionate citizens from the local community who have an interest in conserving, protecting, and restoring wild fish and their habitats. The chapter works towards educating anglers and the public at large on trout and salmon life cycles, fish identification, local habitats, and conservation issues to ensure healthy populations for future generations. The chapter also advocates for improving protections for Bull Trout, through education and management.
An inaugural meeting for the Golden Chapter was held in November 2017 and they became an official TUC chapter in January 2018.
