Fin Art

Fin Art!  TUC’S Peer-to-Peer Fundraiser.

Canada’s future depends on the availability of clean water for drinking, food production, a strong economy, and healthy wild spaces. This valuable resource is under threat.

Like most organizations, TUC has been hit hard by the COVID-19 pandemic through the loss of funding, cancellation of events, and significant reductions in donations. We have reduced our programming, operating hours, and are in the process of digitizing products for continuing education. These and future efforts will help mitigate the impacts of these difficult times, but we still need your help to ensure that TUC will be able to protect and enhance Canada’s resources and battle the climate crisis well into the future.

TUC is fortunate to have a wide spectrum of amazing talents among its supporters, members, volunteers, and staff across Canada and abroad. The Fin Art campaign is the first of its kind for TUC and aims to raise funds through a peer-to-peer model, supporting our conservation and education programming across Canada while showcasing and celebrating art and creativity. Anyone can join in and contribute to the campaign or simply support the cause through a donation!

Some employers match employee contributions to charitable causes and some have increased their match as a result of the COVID-19 crisis. Don’t forget to ask your HR team to increase your impact! As the name implies, the campaign is fish, wildlife, and/or water-themed and open for artists and creators of all stripes and scales, the wackier and wilder your artistic ideas, the better.

If you are interested in contributing to the campaign, visit the Fin Art campaign page on Canada Helps to view the campaign page, visit and support the campaign pages of other contributors, share on social media or by email, or make a donation. To create your own page, click the “create a fundraiser” button and create a Canada Helps profile and page for your campaign with a title, description, and pictures as well as set a fundraising goal. No goal is too small, every contribution matters, and we are so excited to see all your amazing creations. If you have any questions please check out our FAQs.

The campaign launches on April 24th, 2020, and will end on May 31st, 2020. Our goal is to raise a total of $10,000. Knitters, painters, digital artists, calligraphers, textile artists, and musicians…. let your imagination swim free!

Thank you from the entire TUC team!
