Join us for some boots-on-the-ground riparian work along Westrup Creek in the Municipal District of Ranchland. Annually we walk Westrup Creek to pull Oxeye daisy, scout for fish, learn local cowboy history and enjoy a great lunch along this gorgeous creek.
Please meet at the Municipal District of Ranchland administrative office (located just within Chain Lakes Provincial Park) at 10:00 to follow your hosts out to the starting point of the weed pull, located about 20 kilometers southwest of the office building.
The weed pull is anticipated to be a lot of fun and full of sunshine… Mother nature permitting!
We will provide a delicious lunch of sandwiches, water and soft drinks onsite.
Some things you may wish to bring:
Bear spray, waders or water shoes, clothes for six seasons, extra water, snacks, bug spray, sunscreen, sturdy footwear.
Please be advised that this is a remote site with no nearby towns, limited cellular coverage and toilets.
Please use the registration to help us order enough lunch!
