This one day course will certify participants in backpack electro-fishing. Backpack electro-fishing is a widely used method for fish population monitoring and assessment. This course will provide in-class instruction and an outdoor, hands-on practicum.
No previous experience required. Only 12 spots available on a first-come, first-served basis. It is recommended that participants obtain their Standard First Aid and CPR certification prior to the course, however, it is not required.
Pre-registration and payment is required.
Please note that Level 2 electro-fishing certification is also contingent on a 70% passing grade on the electro-fishing written and practicum exam within this course.
Participants are also required to independently obtain their Standard First Aid and CPR Certification and 15 backpack electrofishing apprenticeship hours. Apprenticeship opportunities available with Trout Unlimited Canada throughout the summer and/or fall.
