Corporate Environment Days (CED)
“The funding support provided by the Ontario Trillium Foundation has empowered Trout Unlimited Canada to expand and strengthen our corporate engagement capabilities, which allows for business to reach their ESG goals and creates positive impact for environment. Thank you to Canon Canada for your time and dedication which has profoundly inspired this initiative.”
Trout Unlimited Canada (TUC) implements conservation and education programs across the country to conserve, protect, and restore Canada’s freshwater ecosystems and their Coldwater resources for current and future generations. Much of the work that TUC carries out is made possible by volunteers; corporate environment days present a great opportunity for members of the corporate world to get involved and help make a difference to Canada’s water. TUC’s diverse corporate programs are led by professional staff and are as educational and impactful as they are enjoyable. Our programs advance corporate social responsibility and may fit into your community investment initiatives.
Corporate environment day can be a great team building event and fosters inclusion. It boosts employee morale in the workplace, adds work satisfaction, drives productivity, and minimizes turnovers. CED is a platform that connects businesses with the communities they serve to strengthen relationships and underscore the values products and services add to the greater good and sustainable future. TUC celebrates corporate sponsors and volunteers through our website and social media. Corporate programs present a PR opportunity to promote and build brand image while conducting vital environmental and community work.
Your team would conduct hands-on activities and learn about the importance of freshwater resources through in-person and virtual engagements.
Thank you for supporting our cause!
Local MPP Will Bouma met with Trout Unlimited Canada (TUC) at the App’s Mills Nature Centre to announce the launch of the group’s Corporate Environment Days (CED) program. The program launch is a result of a one-year, $149,900 Resilient Communities Fund grant awarded by the Ontario Trillium Foundation (OTF) in 2022. Trout Unlimited Canada has been a national leader in freshwater ecosystem conservation and restoration for 50 years.
“Being a volunteer driven group, Trout Unlimited Canada puts more work on the ground than any other national freshwater conservation organization”, said Brantford-Brant MPP Will Bouma. “I am pleased to be part of a government that recognizes the importance of fresh, clean water and I congratulate Trout Unlimited Canada for their dedication to the well-being of Ontario”.
The Resilient Communities Fund grant program was developed by OTF in 2020 to help non-profit organizations to rebuild and recover from the impacts brought on by the pandemic. TUC made a strong case for the funds to help it develop new fundraising strategies and new ways of delivering programs like CED. Funds from the grant were used by TUC to help with some key costs ranging from staffing and administration, to purchasing technical and program equipment, redesigning its website and hosting workshops. It also helped with the costs involved with increasing bandwidth, covering digital marketing costs, and providing training for its team with new programs and technical equipment.
“The funding support provided by the OTF has empowered Trout Unlimited Canada to expand and strengthen our corporate engagement capabilities, which allows for businesses to reach their ESG goals and create positive impact for the environment”, said TUC Marketing and Communications Director, Kate Mairs. “Our gratitude as well goes to Canon Canada for their time and dedication, which has profoundly inspired this initiative.”

“Thank you for taking us out for a great day of volunteering. It was invaluable for our team to see just one of many remediation activities that are taking place in our watersheds. We all loved it and genuinely enjoyed getting to know you and the entire team.”
“Trout Unlimited Canada has been an incredible environmental partner for many years,” says Sammy Kobayashi, President and CEO of Canon Canada. “Their commitment to environmental sustainability and community conservation is exactly why we team with them for Branch Out, Canon Canada’s volunteer program that encourages employees to spend part of their day creating green spaces and sustainable environments around the communities where they live and work. Our employees always look forward to the activities planned for them. We know TUC will continue to do great work in the community.”
