Collaboration in a Sensitive Watershed: For those in the Merritt, BC area, the Nicola Basin Collaborative is hosting the first annual Nicola Symposium “Collaboration in a Sensitive Watershed”. The symposium takes place February 1st and 2nd at the Nicola Valley Institute of Technology in Merritt, BC.

The Nicola watershed is drought prone, faces challenges due to climate change, and has both sensitive and declining fish populations.

Trout Unlimited Canada’s Thompson-Nicola Chapter is one of TUC’s newest chapters and members of the chapter will be in attendance. The Chapter aims to conserve, protect, and restore ecosystems within the Thompson River and Nicola River watershed. The chapter has a variety of interests including research, conservation, and habitat restoration. The Nicola Symposium will be an excellent opportunity to identify future opportunities for collaboration with other partners with shared goals.
